Love yourself first

“You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection”
– Buddha

YEAH! you read that right. Love yourself first before you love somebody else.
Loving yourself is very essential to be a better person. When you claim to love yourself, it means that you accept and respect who and what you are.

True self-love is an unconditional feeling of love, and accepting yourself with all your strength and ignoring your flaws.

Have you ever wondered if someone ask you about things you love and how long it will actually take you to mention yourself?
Some things may be equally essential but nothing is more important than a healthy sense of self-esteem and loving yourself.

Why is self-love so important?
Self love gives us the strength and courage to be a better person, high self-esteem and the ability to live happily because it actually involves treating yourself with the same kindness, concern, and support you’d show to your friends and family.

Acknowledge that you have a life and be so proud of it. Instead of complaining about your situations which could result to self hate, just figure out what you can do to be a better person rather than feeling bad about it. Self love gives you freedom to explore the world. It also gives everyone else an impression about you. If you hate yourself and visualize yourself as a piece of shit, that’s how everyone will also see you. Be very conscious of how you treat yourself.

Loving yourself truly wont give room for comparison. Comparing yourself with other people will only make you feel bad about yourself and feel worthless as well. Know and accept that you’re perfect the way you are.
If we impute our true value, we’d realize that we don’t have less value than anyone else. We see that we are equally as important, beautiful and unique as anyone else.

Some of us might think self love refers to being self-centered or to be greedy. Self-centerdness in the real sense gives you a self-interest mindset. The mindset that everyone else is not as important as you are. To be kind to yourself doesn’t make you selfish or inhumane to anyone else.
When we love ourselves in a healthy way, we learn how to love others more effectively and more considerately as well.
When there is inadequate self-love, we’re not capable of truly loving others. If you have low self-esteem or self-hatred, it could also cause harm to your relationships. You tend to have negative thinking that you’re not good enough for anyone and your partner is only managing you. You could even get into bad relationship with someone who ain’t good for you or treating you bad. Lack of self-love result to low self-esteem.

Practise the habit of envisaging yourself as a basically wonderful person who is worthy of love and happiness.
Love yourself on good and bad days.
Think of all the things you enjoy, that brings you pleasure. And simply do them with yourself.

Give yourself so much love this Valentine. Take yourself out for a special treat. Buy yourself gifts. Look good not because you want to please anyone but because you really love yourself. You deserve the love you’re trying to give everyone else. You deserve to be happy and be proud of your personality.

“Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. You really have to love yourself to get anything done in this world.”
